administering medication
The administration of prescribed medication to a pupil during school hours will be permitted only when failure to take such medicine would jeopardize the health of the pupil, or the pupil would not be able to attend school if the medicine were not made available to him/her during school hours. Medication shall include all medicines prescribed by a physician, both over the counter and prescription.
Before any medication may be administered to or by any pupil during school hours a written request from the parent/guardian and the physician is required.

- the dosage
- the time at which the medication shall be given
- the length of time for which the medication is prescribed
- the possible side effects of the medication
